after the long delay

Since i havent posted in a while iv been putting off posting which has become a vicious cycle and has resulted in me to continue to put off posting and leaving you hanging for a week.
Last weekend my dear room mate Tania was very sick with a fever and flu like symptoms. While she was sleeping and sweating off the fever, i went to St. Georges Market with Sarah for the afternoon. Its a market that runs every Saturday with a fresh market (kinda like the west side market) of meat, fruit, vegitables, breads and desserts. It also has alot of local crafts and art. I bought some jewelry and Sarah got a beautiful ceramic bowl. There is alot of food including stew, tapas, coffee, fresh juice, sandwiches and burgers which you can eat while you enjoy the live Irish music. We left loaded down with a bag of goodies - hence the beautiful flowers hanging out of the bag - and wandered around Belfast. Sarah and i went to this amazing Irish store called Primark which is just a store with incredibly cheap clothes and we found this really cool store called Avoca. Avoca kinda has an Urban Outfitters feel to it but way more unique and it has a super cute cafe upstairs and a more casual sandwich shop. Yes, it is most definitely SUPER cute.
This past week i also went to a fun fair! I went with Andy, Ruth, and Jessica one evening because we all needed to get off campus and have some fun. It was a pretty decent size fair with lots of rides. We went on a tiny roller coaster thing, a log ride, a really spinny ride, the faris wheel, the bumber cars, another spinny thing, a think where you get dropped, the swings, the mirror house, and the fun house. Besides slight sickness from some of the group, we had a really fun time. Even the 40 minute walk home was spent laughing and chatting.
Its been a wonderful past week.

a weekend

This weekend - the last weekend before homework started - i spent hanging out mostly in Belfast. Friday night i went out for dinner with people from the hostel Tania, Ruth, Andy, Eric, Mary, Tanner, Emily, and Shelly who goes to BBC and lives in the area. We had a really fun evening first at a place called Wetherspoons for nachos and burgers and then to a really cool cafe for dessert. It was so much fun to wander around Belfast together and get to know some people that i haven't really hung out with too much. Emily and Tanner are married and both at school here for a year (i think), they are from Tennessee. Eric and Mary are also married and Mary is studying here for two years (i think) and they are from Nova Scotia Canada. They all live here on campus but in apartment style housing so they don't hang out with everyone in our lounge as much as the single students. The evening was a nice way to get to chat with them and for everyone to become better friends.
On Saturday i went into Belfast with Sarah to get a birthday gift (for someone who is probably reading this) and we ended up spending all afternoon downtown. We had tea and coffee for about an hour and wandered around shops until everything closed. Then we just walked for another hour and found some cute shops and restaurants to revisit before heading home.
The weekend flew by just as quickly as the weeks have flown by.
And now its Monday and i should start my first paper that is due in a couple of weeks.
